Template:Totd format
{{{tip}}}

{{{more}}}
This template is intended for formatting the 366 daily Wikipedia:Tip of the day pages, e.g. Wikipedia:Tip of the day/January 1.
Usage
Normal parameters:
{{totd format
|title =
|display = {{{display|}}}
|date =
|tip =
|more =
}}
title
, date
and tip
are mandatory.
A pipe in the value of |tip =
may be interpreted as ending the parameter in some situations. This can be avoided by replacing the pipe with {{!}}
.
|display =
is an optional parameter to only return a given parameter, e.g. |display = title
.
The tip page for a day should always pass on the parameter with |display = {{{display|}}}
. This means {{Wikipedia:Tip of the day/January 1|display=title}}
will only return the title of Wikipedia:Tip of the day/January 1: "Where to begin?"
Optional parameters
|more =
is a bulleted list of Read more links. The bullets are not rendered but each link should be on its own line with an asterisk in front. The whole value is bolded by default.
|more heading =
changes the default "Read more" heading, e.g. |more heading=See also
|more unbold = yes
(or any other value) removes the default bolding from the more
parameter so a tip can make its own formatting, for example bolding links but not other text.
Small test case
{{totd format
|title = This is the tip title
|display = {{{display|}}}
|date = January 1
|tip =
This is the tip. It can include any [[Help:Wiki markup|wiki markup]].
|more =
* [[Wikipedia:Tip of the day]]
}}
The above produces:
