Template:South Ossetia-note
South Ossetia's status is disputed. It considers itself to be an independent state, but this is recognised by only a few other countries. The Georgian government and most of the world's other states consider South Ossetia de jure a part of Georgia's territory.
The South Ossetia note was created analogously to the Kosovo note, since the complicated status of South Ossetia should not be discussed every time South Ossetia is mentioned in an article that does not deal directly with the Georgian-Russian war, while this information should still be available for interested readers.
Usage
[edit]Georgian-Russian war Next to the first instance of South Ossetia in an article, include:
<ref group=note>{{South Ossetia-note}}</ref>
At the end of the article, preferably in a section titled ===Notes===, include:
{{Reflist|group=note}}
