Heart Mountain Relocation Center
Heart Mountain Relocation Center, located in Park County, Wyoming, was one of ten concentration camps used for the internment of Japanese Americans in the United States evicted during World War II from their local communities. The first inmates arrived in Heart Mountain on August 12, 1942. This 1943 photograph depicts the Japanese-American writer and journalist Bill Hosokawa in his barracks at Heart Mountain, accompanied by his wife Alice and their son Mike, and three members of staff.
