It depicts the artist's daughters, Eleanor and Rosalba, seated side-by-side, and emphasizes each daughter's creative talents. Eleanor sits before a tapestry-covered table, where a palette and volume of music are visible. Rosalba, meanwhile, holds a drawing tool.
