A chromolithograph of the Statue of Liberty that was published about one year before the monument was officially dedicated on October 28, 1886. The statue, given to the United States by the people of France to represent the friendship between the two countries established during the American Revolution, is depicted with its original copper-bronze hue, but in this print, it faces southward with Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge visible in the background.
