Champagne Pool is a prominent geothermal feature within the Wai-O-Tapu area in the Waikato region of New Zealand. The name is derived from the abundant efflux of carbon dioxide similar to gas bubbles in a glass of bubbling Champagne. The orange color originates from deposits of arsenic and antimony sulfides.Photo credit: Christian Mehlführer
