Template:Major article contributions table/doc
This template summarises an editor's major contributions.
Reading this table
[edit]The symbols mean the following:
- : this editor has turned an article that had big and not easily solvable problems into something acceptable
- : this editor has achieved a Did you know? (DYK) credit for an article by creating or expanding it
- : this editor has played a major role in getting an article to good article (GA) status
- : this editor has played a major role in getting an article to featured article (FA) status
On the main diagonal, only articles for which exactly one of these has been achieved are counted; below the diagonal, articles are tallied for which the editor has managed to do multiple of them.
For example, in the following table, an editor has gotten a DYK credit for 5 articles, of which articles they've taken 3 to GA status, of which articles they've taken 2 to FA status. For 1 of the articles for which they got a DYK credit, they've not contributed to getting it to GA status but have played a major role in taking it to FA status. They've also taken 4 articles to GA status that they had not previously thoroughly cleaned up or received a DYK credit for.

It is assumed that and do not co-occur - that would require an article to fall into severe disrepair after getting into DYK. The honest reason is that the table would become a bit too complicated, and this seems like the least likely combination (?).
Usage
[edit]As parameters to this template, simply give the numbers that should go in the table. The order is top row to bottom row, right to left. So, this code:

If the last k numbers are all 0, you can simply leave them out; so, someone who only has DYKs might use:

Motivation
[edit]This template is intended for use on people's userpages, as a way to show what one has done without using one userbox per major contribution.
