Required parameters
[edit]- Home: The name of the home team.
- Road: The name of the road (away) team.
- HR and RR: The total runs scored by the home and the away teams respectively.
- Other: This generates a table caption which is required for all data tables on Wikipedia. This caption needs to have a semantically meaningful explanation of what the table is about and can include any other information for the game itself, e.g. "Game 2", "Quarter-Final", "(F/11)", "(F/7)"
Optional parameters
[edit]- H(1-33/X) and R(1-33/X):[1] The runs scored by each team in each inning. e.g. "
H1
" is the runs scored by the home team in the 1st inning, "R7
" is the runs scored by the road team in the 7th inning, "HX
" is the runs scored by the home team in all extra innings. (HX
andRX
are available as alternatives to specifying all extra innings separately where space is limited.) - HH and RH:[1] The total hits achieved by the home and road teams respectively.
- HE and RE:[1] The total errors committed by the home and road teams respectively.
- Compact: If set to any non-blank value, reduces the width of the template.
- Header: If set to any non-blank value, hides the following parameters from display...
- Date: The date the game was played on. (See WP:MOS#Dates and WP:MOSNUM#Dates for recommended formatting. Generally the year will be clear from the context of the article or section of article, and so should not be specified.)
- Time: The time the game started. (See WP:MOS#Times and WP:MOSNUM#Time of day for recommended formatting. In cases where multiple time zones are specified or possible (e.g. 2009 Baseball World Cup) including the time zone is recommended.)
- Location: The name of the field where the game was played. The city should be specified if its ambiguous from the name of the field, unless its clear from the context of the article. (e.g. "Coopers Stadium" → "Coopers Stadium, Adelaide")
- Stats: If set to any non-blank value, hides the following parameters from display...
- HomeAbr and RoadAbr: Abbreviations used for the home and road team in the statistics section.
- HSP and RSP: The starting pitchers used by each team. This should only be used when the game has not yet been completed. The name should be wiki-linked and the pitcher's win–loss record[2] for the season should be included in parentheses. (E.g.
... | HSP=[[Ryan Rowland-Smith]] (5–4) | ...
) - WP: The pitcher that is credited with the win. Wiki-link the name and include their season win–loss record[2] as of the end of the game in parentheses.
- LP: The pitcher that is charged with the loss. It should be formatted as with
WP
. - SV: The pitcher that is credited with the save. Wiki-link the name and include their total saves for the season as of the end of the game in parentheses. (E.g.
... | SV=[[Grant Balfour]] (4) | ...
) - HomeHR and RoadHR: The player(s) that hit home runs during the game, if any. (Defaults to "None".) Wiki-link the players' names, then include the number of home runs hit in the game (unless only one was hit by the player) followed by the total home runs hit for the season in parentheses. (E.g.
... | HomeHR=[[Trent Oeltjen]] (7), [[Luke Hughes]] 2 (14) | ...
) - Attendance: The number of people in attendance for the game.
- Umpires: The Umpires that officiated the game.
- Notes: Any other information that may need to be provided. (E.g. A suspended/postponed game, a delay during the game, etc.)
- BoxURL: A link to a report, boxscore, or play-by-play of the game.
