The template adds articles to categories. (It should not per WP:TEMPLATECAT.)

  • Alternating: Adds articles to category if value is present or not.
  • Class: The template adds articles to the following categories if values exist: "hyperbolic", "satellite" ("composite", "cable", or "Whitehead double"), and/or "torus". If no value exists it adds articles to "Category:Knots and links", unless "nextlink=" is present in which case it adds "Category:Links (knot theory)".
  • Fibered: Adds articles to category if value is present or not.
  • Pretzel: Adds articles to category only if value is present.
  • Torus: Adds articles to category only if value is present.
  • Prime: Adds articles to category only if value is present.
  • Slice: Adds articles to category only if value is present.
  • Symmetry: Adds articles to category ("fully amphichiral", "amphichiral", "chiral", "fully chiral", or "reversible") if value is present.
  • Tricolorable: Adds articles to category only if value is present.
  • Twist: Adds articles to category only if value is present.
