Usage
This template is intended to be used for articles about First Nations governments (i.e. Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation) and not their reserves (i.e. Shoal Lake 39). Although many of its fields are only applicable for band governments that have Government of Canada recognition, such as the official band number, recognition is not a necessary condition of use. For the template used by Indian reserves, see Template:Infobox settlement.

Alternate version with CIRNAC footnote already prefilled. The CIRNAC is a online federal government source should provide almost all necessary information, although Tribal Council membership often needs to be verified by other sources. Just add the band number to the URL and update the access date. Note that, as of 2019, Canada's Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs department is in the thick of a reorganization, and this old URL may break at any time.
