Template:Idiom/doc
This is a documentation subpage for Template:Idiom. It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
Usage
[edit]This inline template should be placed after a word or phrase which needs replacing with equivalent literal text. Unlike {{Colloquial}}, an idiom is not necessarily informal. It is preferable to resolve the problem yourself if possible, but if you cannot determine the literal interpretation, this tag should be used.
See the template data for parameters.
Template data
[edit]This inline cleanup template is used to tag words or phrases which are colloquial or that cannot be interpreted literally without the sentence in question being nonsensical.
Parameter | Description | Type | Status | |
---|---|---|---|---|
reason | reason | Replaces the default hover text. | String | optional |
uncertain | uncertain | If this parameter exists and is not empty, a question mark (?) is appended to the end of the tag, and the wording of the tooltip is changed to reflect uncertainty about whether or not the tagged text is colloquial. | String | optional |
date | date | The date this tag was added. Format example: June 2016
| Date | required |
Notes
[edit]This template will add tagged articles to dated subcategories of Category:Wikipedia articles with style issues by month and to Category:All articles with style issues.
