Template:IP COI notice
Appearance
Potential Conflict of Interest This IP address, (IP address appears here), is registered to a business or corporation. Users at this address may have a conflict of interest with editing Wikipedia articles related to their organization. Editors should be especially attentive to possible neutral point of view issues with this user's contributions. |
This template can be transcluded onto the user talk page of any IP address belonging to a corporation or business. It provides a notice to other Wikipedia editors that users from this IP may have a conflict of interest with editing Wikipedia neutrally, and that any contributions to articles related to the IP's owner should be subject to higher scrutiny than usual.
Usage
[edit]{{IP COI notice|name of company|contact information|host=optional.hostname}}
The second parameter can be used to specify an e-mail address or role account to which abuse reports can be sent. Use this parameter only if the institution has specifically requested that it be added.
To prevent excessive clutter on the user talk page, and to make future changes easier, this template should NOT be subst:ed. The parameter for hostname is optional.
