Purpose
[edit]This template facilitates the attribution of articles from either an external source or from the Wikisource project Easton's Bible Dictionary in the manner of {{cite encyclopedia}}.
This template should usually be placed on the main page of the article, in the "References" section near the bottom of the page (see WP:Plagiarism#Where to place attribution).
Usage

noicon=x – if set removes the icon from the start of the citation prescript=string – alter prescript to string, for no prescript see{{Cite EBD}}
inline=x — alter the prescript from "This article" to "One or more of the preceding sentences" short=x — prevents author, publisher and edition information being displayed ref=harv — default. can be modified by setting the parameter to another value (see{{cite encyclopedia}}
) encyclopedia=Easton's Bible Dictionary — default setting. Can be modified year=1897 — default setting. Can be modified last=Easton — default setting. Can be modified authorlink=Matthew George Easton — default setting. Can be modified edition=New and revised — default setting. Can be modified publisher=T. Nelson and Sons — default setting. Can be modified wstitle=EBD article name — set if the EBD article resides on Wikisource title=EBD article name — set if the EBD article does not reside on Wikisource url=article link — set if the EBD article resides on a known external web server volume=volume number — not set by default see (see{{cite encyclopedia}}

To link to an article on Wikisource:

The parameter noicon=x stops the display of the icon:

The parameter short=x removes author, publisher and edition information:

Hidden category
[edit]This template will add the articles transcluding it to the hidden category Category:Wikipedia articles incorporating text from Easton's Bible Dictionary.
