Template:Did you know review/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Usage

[edit]

This is intended as a templated Did you know review. Parameters 1-8 and 11 use #if statements, so it really doesn't matter what you put in there; with parameters 9-10, putting 'n' in it brings up "not done" and "improperly licensed", putting 'u' in it brings up "unnecessary" and "nonexistent". Parameter 12 is a custom field in which further comment can be entered; if the nomination is good to go, parameter 12 enters text before "Good to go." and parameter 13 enters text after it. Parameter 14 gives an ALT number (ALT1, ALT2 etcetera), the parameter 15 gives further hook comments and parameter 16 gives further article comments.

Symbol overrides

[edit]

The symbol overrides work on a numerical basis; no numbers other than those listed here work. With 6, it short-circuits the rest of the template...

  • {{subst:Did you know review|17=1}} produces: New enough, long enough. Hook short enough and sourced (as is every paragraph). No neutrality problems found, no copyright problems found, no maintenance problems found. QPQ done and image properly licensed. Good to go.
  • {{subst:Did you know review|17=2}} produces: New enough, long enough. Hook short enough and sourced (as is every paragraph). No neutrality problems found, no copyright problems found, no maintenance problems found. QPQ done and image properly licensed. Good to go.

...as does parameter 18, which is to be used when the issues raised have been addressed. Please note that although the icon can be still be adjusted, the review will make no mention of offline sources so it is better to have done so in the previous review.

  • {{subst:Did you know review|18=y}} produces Good to go.
  • {{subst:Did you know review|18=y|14=1}} produces Good to go with ALT1.
  • {{subst:Did you know review|18=y|14=1|17=2}} produces Good to go with ALT1.

Parameter 19 adds {{dykn|the nomination you have just reviewed}} to the end of the message after the signature, and is not meant to be saved. Template:Dykn is a shortform template for giving a wikilink to an article you've used this template to review, and if it is used as a QPQ, copy that into the "Reviewed" row of your nomination. Parameter 20 is for me, for when I lay down new documentation. Anything other than "t|=yes" will shut it off.
