Black-cowled oriole
- ... that James Bond didn't consider the black-cowled oriole (pictured) to be a distinct species? Source: Icterus prosthemelas was considered a distinct species until Bond (1947) included it in I. dominicensis, without comment but apparently on the basis of its similarity in plumage to I. d. northropi.
- ALT1: ... that the black-cowled oriole (pictured) hangs its woven nest under a large Heliconia, palm, or banana leaf? Source: Nest: a short pouch or deep cup, woven of fine, pale-colored fibers, suspended beneath the midrib, or a fold near the edge, of a leaf of the banana, palm or other large-leaved plant. Stiles, F. Gary & Skutch, Alexander F. A Guide to the Birds of Costa Rica. Ithaca, NY, USA: Comstock Publishing Associates. pp. 410–411. ISBN 978-0-8014-2287-4. and another source showing Heliconia leaf use

- Interesting birds, good expansion on fine sources, offline sources accepted AGF, no copyvio obvious. The image is licensed and a good illustration. Just waiting for the qpq. Next time, please add the "picture" thingy, and place the nom under Nov 1 (when expanded). I don't think it matters this time. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:57, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
- Hi @Gerda Arendt:, I've done my QPQ. MeegsC (talk) 19:06, 12 November 2020 (UTC)

- Hi, I came by to promote this to an image slot, but I'm wondering if you're trying to fool readers into thinking about the fictional James Bond? This takes away from the actual subject. IMO you can just as well write a hook about it being considered a separate species until 1947, and it would still be good for the image slot. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 16:15, 14 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoninah:: why don't you use the Alt1 hook then? Gerda Arendt preferred the original, but there's another hook there you can use. I absolutely wanted people to think it was the fictional James Bond; that might make them click on the article to see. Just saying it was considered a distinct species, and then it wasn't, then it was again is pretty boring — and can be said about lots and lots of species. MeegsC (talk) 16:23, 14 November 2020 (UTC)
