Zingiber barbatum
[edit]- ... that Zingiber barbatum (pictured) is considered to be an "underutilized medicinal plant"?
Created by QatarStarsLeague (talk). Self nominated at 16:04, 11 March 2014 (UTC).
- Date, length, hook and source verified. As you’ll see, I’ve added some shortening to my sig! (talk) 01:19, 12 March 2014 (UTC)
- After the enormous quote at the end of the article is properly set as a blockquote—such long quotes do not count toward the 1500 minimum prose characters required by DYK—this article is only 1243 prose characters. In addition, the issues raised regarding close paraphrasing in WT:DYK#Zingiber barbatum need to be addressed as well as other issues mentioned there. If material is being copied from public domain sources, this must be specified by the usual Wikipedia methods. BlueMoonset (talk) 14:55, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
- Is this still eligible for DYK? It's not long enough yet, and far older than five days. Adam Cuerden (talk) 03:33, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
- QatarStarsLeague made minor edits the article shortly after my review, leaving the article with 1210 prose characters, even fewer than I noted. There have been no more edits on Wikipedia since that day. It's been three weeks since then, and despite that generous amount of time nothing has been done; regretfully, I think it's time to close this nomination as unsuccessful. The close paraphrasing discussion has been archived; it's now at Wikipedia talk:Did you know/Archive 102#Zingiber barbatum. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:24, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
