Zhu Changfang
[edit]... that Zhu Changfang, Prince of Lu, developed a new type of lute with Western characteristics?- ... that Zhu Changfang, Prince of Lu, developed a new type of guqin incorporating Western design elements?
- ALT1:... that Zhu Changfang, Prince of Lu, built over 300 lutes?
- Reviewed: Hermann Eggert
- Comment: Both hooks are from the same sentence, the first is verified by Des Forges, the second by the exhibition catalogue. I've piped "guqin" to "lute" since the sources do, but I've no objection to using "guqin" instead.

- Date is fine: the article was just created yesterday. At about 2400 characters, the length is more than adequate. The article draws upon plenty of sources and uses them fine for the most part; it did have some minor grammatical and spelling mistakes, and one slight misreading of a source ("Central Harmony" is referring to a musical style, not the guqin design), but I fixed them. Also, the article described Lu as being "an area near Hangzhou", which is indeed supported by the citation [1] given, but another citation [2] used elsewhere in the article claims that Lu is centered on Weihui in northern Henan, which are locations several hundred miles apart. I went ahead and changed the article to reflect the fact that the sources disagree on the location of Lu.
- Regarding the hooks: I feel strongly that the hooks should call the instruments for what they are -- guqin, particularly as Wikipedia has an article describing them in detail -- and not inaccurately call them lutes (particularly as "lutes with Western characteristics" reads strangely, since lutes are already Western instruments). Regarding the ALT1 hook, the cited link [3] to the exhibition catalog only shows the front page of the catalog and does not give a 300 guqin figure; while I'm willing to assume good faith that the article writer actually has access to the actual catalog itself to verify that figure, I'd be more comfortable using the first DYK, which doesn't rely on that catalog that is not available in full online. However, "characteristics" is quite vague, and so I have suggested a revised hook above.
