Yazawin Thit
[edit]... that Yazawin Thit, the first historical document in Southeast Asia written in consultation with epigraphic evidence, was ultimately rejected by the Konbaung court for what the court considered to be harsh criticisms of the prior Burmese chronicles?

- Good to go; new enough and long enough. Hook is good. QPQ done. Thine Antique Pen (talk) 18:17, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
- Hook is 248 characters, far outside the maximum allowed for DYK. Please propose an alternate hook that is at least 50 characters fewer, preferably even shorter. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:38, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
- How about these:
- ALT1 ... that the historical document Yazawin Thit was rejected for what the Konbaung court considered to be harsh criticisms of the prior Burmese chronicles?
- ALT2 ... that Yazawin Thit, the first historical document in Southeast Asia written in consultation with epigraphic evidence, was rejected after being judged too critical of the prior Burmese chronicles? --Orlady (talk) 18:10, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
- I've dropped a note on Hybernator's talk page; if there's a preference between the two, it'd be nice to know. So far as I can see, both ALT1 and ALT2 are properly sourced, and meet the length requirements. (I've struck the original hook, which didn't.) Once Hybernator has checked in, this should be ready to proceed. BlueMoonset (talk) 19:46, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the help. I forgot to check the length. Both alternatives are fine but I prefer ALT2. Thanks. Hybernator (talk) 00:42, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
- Hooks: ALT2 is preferred by nominator, ALT1 is also okay. Rest of article approved per Thine Antique Pen review above. BlueMoonset (talk) 15:04, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
