Wyn Griffiths
[edit]- ... that, during a wartime friendly match for Arsenal, footballer Wyn Griffiths was replaced by a footballer in the crowd after suffering an injury? Source: greensonscreen.co.uk coludata.co.uk
- ALT1:... that footballer Wyn Griffiths was also a veterinarian, a race horse owner and a radio presenter? Source: WalesOnline South Wales Argus
- Reviewed: Washington State Route 243
- Comment: I've deliberately left out the fact that Harry Brown, the person who replaced him, was a professional footballer to increase the curiosity value. I wasn't trying to be deliberately misleading, let me know any thoughts you have on it.

QPQ: - Not completed yet
Overall: Prefer ALT0, and Brown could be worked in by mentioning a "footballer in the stands". ALT1 needs clarification on whether "vet" means veterinarian or veteran. Just ping me when the QPQ is done. SounderBruce 03:59, 26 October 2018 (UTC)

- Since it is not clear from the article that 1945 was during the war or after it, I am replacing "wartime" in the hook with the 1945 date. I am also taking SounderBruce's suggestion of "a footballer in the stands", and moving the subject further toward the front of the hook. Here is the tweaked hook that I'm promoting:
