Work stealing
[edit]- ... that on parallel computers, work stealing can be more efficient than work sharing?
- ALT1:... that on parallel computers, processors can steal work from each other?
- Comment: Page was created in May 2013, but was a redirect to Cilk#Work-stealing. The article is not based on that section, so I consider it new.

- A1 — this is new enough
- A2 — this is long enough
- A3 — it seems reasonably compliant with policy. It's not perfect, of course, as I reckon it could use some copyediting to make the language more accessible, especially in the lead. I'll have a go at this myself and this work will help confirm the correctness of the details, for which I am mostly assuming good faith, currently.
- H1 — the suggested hooks are short
- H2 — I like ALT1 best. It seems a more intriguing hook and its claim is weaker than the first hook and so is easily supported by the Blumofe paper.
- O1 — Qwertyus has only done one DYK before and so doesn't need to do a QPQ yet.
- O2 — There's no image and I suppose it will be challenging to find one for the topic.
In summary, the page is good enough to proceed. Well done. Andrew D. (talk) 13:00, 26 January 2015 (UTC)
- @Andrew Davidson: actually I've done multiple DYKs, but I did QPQ every time so I still have freebies. I haven't kept track of them, is there a place where I can see my own DYKs easily? QVVERTYVS (hm?) 13:55, 26 January 2015 (UTC)
- Qwertyus, it's somewhat brute force, but you can use the Contributions link to see your own contributions in the Template space, and click on the Did you know nominations ones to see which ones were reviews and which ones submissions. (This link shows your Template space edits.) Also, while you do get your first five DYKs free, once you have five that's no longer the case, even if you did voluntarily start doing reviews before they were required. - Andrew Davidson, BlueMoonset, seems like this is number four, after Flemish revolts against Maximilian of Austria, Utrecht sodomy trials and Bradley–Terry model (see comment by Cowlibob there, whose check didn't turn up the two earlier ones either). QVVERTYVS (hm?) 14:53, 26 January 2015 (UTC)
