Willis Tucker
[edit]- ... that newspaper editor Willis Tucker was elected the first county executive of Snohomish County, Washington in 1980? Source: "During the March 11, 1980 general election, Tucker defeated Nelson to become the county's first executive." (The Seattle Times: 2000 and 1980 [offline]

- The hook is interesting as it startled and intrigued me to learn that Snohomish County did not have an Executive until 1980, indicating they did not adopt a charter government until that late date. Fascinating! The hook is also of appropriate length and is cited to a RS (the Seattle Times). There is no image to review against. Both the hook and article are NPOV. The article is new enough (created 20NOV) and long enough. There is no obvious copyvio. QPQ done. All other criteria met. GTG. LavaBaron (talk) 04:15, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
- @SounderBruce: you recently ran another Snohomish County Executive hook, and this one might not generate much interest among readers outside Washington State. Tucker had a very colorful life; what do you think about something like this?
