Weightlifting in Armenia
[edit]... that half of Armenia's six Olympic medals at the 2008 Beijing games were from weightlifting?

- ALT 1: ... that numerous Olympic and World weightlifting champions from Armenia hail from Gyumri, a city with a population of 150,000?
- Several uncited paragraphs - DYK requires one inline citation per paragraph. Moswento talky 10:06, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
- Might wannna specify?--Երևանցի ասելիք կա՞ 01:22, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
- Just four missing cites - The first and last paragraphs of 'Soviet Era', the second and third paragraphs of 'Post-independence'. Moswento talky 10:20, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
- I added several sources. Hope it now meets the DYK criteria.--Երևանցի ասելիք կա՞ 23:51, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
- Sources now all look good, as does the text (I just did a bit of minor copyediting). The only issue now is that the hook fact for the original hook (which I think is the better of the two proposed) is not actually mentioned in the article. It needs to be explicitly stated that this is half of their Olympic medal haul, and supported by an inline citation at the end of that sentence. Then I will be ready to give the green tick. - Actually I think the second hook is better.--Երևանցի ասելիք կա՞ 20:28, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
- For the second hook, I think the city's population would need to be mentioned and cited in the article. I'm also not sure that the hook source supports the statement, as it groups weightlifting, wrrestling and boxing together. Can you add references for each of the specific individuals you mentioned - i.e. a sports-reference.com link showing that they come from Gyumri and are weightlifting champions? - All done. --Երևանցի ասելիք կա՞ 02:41, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
