- Cwmhiraeth, following my review, I certify that this article and accompanying hook meet the criteria for DYK. The hook is well-written, and is 119 characters in length. I've confirmed the hook's content in the cited reference, and have also confirmed that this article was 5x expanded and nominated within the required time. -- West Virginian (talk) 16:27, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote this. Is there any way to write it hookier? Yoninah (talk) 13:01, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: How about ALT1? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 13:11, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
- ALT1 ... that besides eating ants and termites, the waved woodpecker feeds on fruits, berries and seeds?
- Cwmhiraeth is this unusual for a woodpecker? If so, could we tell that to the reader? Otherwise ALT1 is OK. Yoninah (talk) 13:14, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: According to the Woodpecker page, "The diet includes ants, termites, beetles and their larvae, caterpillars, spiders, other arthropods, bird eggs, nestlings, small rodents, lizards, fruit, nuts and sap." So not completely unusual, but there is nothing else in the article that I think is hookier. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 13:21, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
