WDXI
... that in Jackson, Tennessee, Dixie wasn't just a region—it was a radio station?Source: https://www.newspapers.com/clip/104023651/

- Interesting station history, fine expansion with good sources, no copyvio obvious. You will have to convince me that it is a good hook. Is it in the article that Dixie is a region? How can we equate Dixie and WDXI? On top of contractions not being formal WP language ... - I'd prefer if the last bit about it being silent was not only in the lead but also in the body. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:04, 1 July 2022 (UTC)
- Dixie was a common term for the American South. You do have a point though, Gerda Arendt, that a non-US reader might be tripped up (though I linked it). I would be fine with "was not" in ALT0. Possible
- ALT1: ... that in Jackson, Tennessee, there was a 50-50 chance a reference to Dixie was about a radio station? Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 05:13, 2 July 2022 (UTC)
- For this non-US user, Dixie and Dixieland stand for a type of music ;) - Why don't we just drop to say what it is not, such as ending ALT1 after radio station? It's a quote from a 1972 newspaper, not a fact of 2022. - Nice to see the SEXY hook today! ... but we don't need to be quirky all the time ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 05:28, 2 July 2022 (UTC)
- That's fair, Gerda Arendt. Possible ALT2: Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 05:52, 2 July 2022 (UTC)
- ALT2: ... that after a Tennessee radio station burned down in a fire, its competitors donated records and offered the use of their facilities? [1]
- for the nice and positive ALT2, and the shortened ALT1 if we are again short on quirkies ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:05, 2 July 2022 (UTC)

- @Gerda Arendt: Unfortunately, we are still short on quirkies, but I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a reason to use ALT2. theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (she/they) 04:00, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
