W.R. van Hoëvell
[edit]- ... that Dutch clergyman W.R. van Hoëvell (1812-1879), after being forced to resign his post in Batavia, became a radical and eloquent spokesman against Dutch colonialism and slavery in the East and West Indies?

- I forgot to mention something: I started this article, and at some point discovered it was already there. I merged the two with this edit, where you can also see the difference between the two versions. I'm still working on the article, but when I counted, a bunch of edits ago, I was below 5x expansion. However, I believe the difference between the non-neutral and unverified older version and mine are big enough to overcome that, if I'm not at 5x yet. - It's certainly big enough now. This might be a GA before it gets to be a DYK. Drmies (talk) 23:25, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- excellent! Dutch sources AGF, suggest slightly different
