Unser Mund sei voll Lachens, BWV 110
[edit]... that in his cantata for Christmas (pictured) Unser Mund sei voll Lachens, BWV 110, Bach embedded "laughing" voices in the overture of his forth Orchestral Suite?
- Comment: Christmas, 25 December, - I am also going for GA
5x expanded by Gerda Arendt (talk). Self-nominated at 21:31, 16 December 2015 (UTC).
- The article is not yet a 5x expansion. It was 2515 characters before the beginning of expansion, and presently stands at 9149 char. The information in the charts does not figure into the character count. Yoninah (talk) 15:00, 20 December 2015 (UTC)
Then something is wrong with DYK check because it says "93 edits ago on Dec 16" (for me). Perhaps DYK check knows a thing called mercy ;) -I'll try to find a GA reviewer, - was so relieved that I didn't have to press someone, now that people will have other things on their mind. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:04, 20 December 2015 (UTC)
- ps: the longest paragraph, Music, in this version before the expansion was copyvio, compare Allmusic. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:29, 20 December 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry, no problem with DYK check, my problem, I read well 16 December, but not 2011 ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:04, 20 December 2015 (UTC)
- No worries. It really is a well-written article, and will make a great GA! Yoninah (talk) 21:41, 20 December 2015 (UTC)

- Now GA, the review can go ahead, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:35, 23 December 2015 (UTC)
- Great work, Gerda. GA awarded today. New enough, long enough, neutrally worded, well referenced, all paragraphs and chart cited, no close paraphrasing seen. Regarding the hook, I don't see "'laughing' voices" in the article at all. I see references to "laughter in the music", but I don't understand that that has to do with voices. Also, do you have a QPQ to submit, or do you want one of mine? Yoninah (talk) 13:07, 23 December 2015 (UTC)

- Reviewed: Kör Yusuf Ziyaüddin Pasha. Hook: I tried to simplify what you quote. If you read the Mincham source, there's a detailed explanation of how the laughter works, - too detailed for the article, I thought. Of course it's the voices to carry the laughter, singing "La-a-a-a-a-a-a-a...". How is this (no image, there will be enough that day):
- ALT1: ... that in his Christmas cantata Unser Mund sei voll Lachens, BWV 110, Bach embedded voices in the overture of his forth Orchestral Suite and achieved a "marvellous rendition of laughter-in-music"? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:35, 23 December 2015 (UTC)
