University of Santo Tomas Baybayin Documents
[edit]- ... that University of Santo Tomas Baybayin Documents (pictured) are part of the biggest collection of extant baybayin scripts?
Created by Carlojoseph14 (talk). Nominated by Shhhhwwww!! (talk) at 09:17, 2 September 2014 (UTC).
- Article age and length check out. QPQ not required. The article requires more inline citations to satisfy the DYK rules. There are several paragraphs with no citations at all. Some clauses are closely paraphrased from the sources, as well. The hook is correctly formatted, but it would be better to talk about the documents themselves rather than the collection they belong to. What about:
- ALT1: ... that the University of Santo Tomas Baybayin Documents (pictured) are "the longest and most complete documents handwritten entirely in baybayin"?
- This is a promising article. I expect to pass the nomination once it's had a little attention and cleanup. Lagrange613 16:01, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
- Added citations. -Carlojoseph14 (talk) 03:17, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you. A citation is still required for the last sentence of the first paragraph of the "Description" second. Also, much of the text is still closely paraphrased or even outright copied and pasted from the sources. Please revisit the text to be sure it's all in your own words, or use quotation marks and citations to properly identify quoted passages. Lagrange613 03:30, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, could you please identify, if you would not mind, lines that are closely paraphrased? Thanks. --Carlojoseph14 (talk) 08:51, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
- For example, the phrases "the longest and most complete documents completely handwritten in baybayin" and "actually part of a book with baybayin documents" were lifted directly from the Philippine Daily Inquirer. An example of close paraphrasing is "Due to its fragile state, the copies are not available for public viewing", when the source has "The actual copies are not available for public viewing due to their fragile state". I don't have time just now to go through everything, so please take a moment to check that all the text is written in your own words. That's a good thing to do at the beginning when you're starting an article, because it's important for copyright purposes and because you can avoid doing extra work if somebody nominates for DYK. - Thanks for the help. :) Done. --Carlojoseph14 (talk) 15:06, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
- Almost there. Please provide a citation for the "citation needed" tag I've added to the article and it should be set to go. Lagrange613 03:13, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
- Lagrange613, Done! :) --Carlojoseph14 (talk) 09:13, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
