The Radha Krsna Temple (album)

[edit]

Created by JG66 (talk). Nominated by Cinosaur (talk) at 12:40, 14 September 2014 (UTC).

  • Good length, good quality, no bugs to report (pun intended), and the hook is cited. I bet you this would be a Good Article by the time that AFD actually comes around. I personally think ALT1 is the more clever hook of the two. ViperSnake151  Talk  18:11, 26 September 2014 (UTC)
  • Thanks for your review, ViperSnake151. Do you think that, even if the article does become a GA before April 1 next year, it could be featured twice in DYK on both counts? Regards, Cinosaur (talk) 15:17, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
No, an article may only feature on DYK once. Hawkeye7 (talk) 21:31, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
Hawkeye7, I thought that an article is eligible for DYK both when it is created/expanded and when it is promoted to the GA status. Or are you referring to D1 of DYK Supplementary guidelines? Regards, Cinosaur (talk) 01:38, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
Yes, per rule D1, it is eligible both times but may only appear once. Hawkeye7 (talk) 10:30, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
  • I drew a blank in searches for both "fruit" and "beetle" in this article, so where is the sourcing for the hook? BTW, I also have an issue with the conflation of Hinduism with ISKCON, a particular sect of the religion, in the hook. Gatoclass (talk) 01:45, 21 March 2015 (UTC)
Okay, I see where "fruit" is derived, it's not exactly an obvious connection. Gatoclass (talk) 13:41, 21 March 2015 (UTC)
  • Could someone address Gato's issue with the Hinduism/ISKCON conflation? — Crisco 1492 (talk) 00:09, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
  • Crisco 1492, Gatoclass: Somehow, I do not see an issue here – ISKCON is unquestionably a denomination of Hinduism with a global presence, so the "contributed to the global spread" is not factually inaccurate. However, to respect and address Gatoclass's concern of perceived conflation, it can be rewritten as:
or something similar. What do you think? Given that the DYK was nominated over half a year ago, it would be a pity to make it wait for yet another year. Regards, Cinosaur (talk) 11:18, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
Hi all, I just received a notification about this DYK nom. Regarding the issue raised by Gatoclass, I remember adding a quote from Ken Hunt's AllMusic review: "For a season it turned into the popular face of Hinduism." Does that resolve those concerns perhaps? (PS I'm chuffed [BritEng] by your comment that the article could be a GA, ViperSnake151 – thank you!) JG66 (talk) 12:28, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
JG66, what a great quote! Surprised to have missed it. How about:
  • Cinosaur, I've added quotes around "the popular face of Hinduism" since ALT5 would not otherwise be eligible, as it's the exact wording from the review. (It's quoted and sourced in the article, so that requirement is covered.) BlueMoonset (talk) 22:00, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
  • BlueMoonset, thanks for the fix. ALT5 is fine with me and looks the best of the lot. I'll leave it up to you and Crisco 1492, though, to decide which one of the alternative hooks to pick. Regards, Cinosaur (talk) 23:10, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
  • Fine, scheduling now. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 06:37, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
