Fortunately, Dave [Davies] managed to step out of the way slightly because if he had not moved that thing would have gone through his head down to his neck.' ... Among the select observers was the Yardbirds' guitarist Chris Dreja ...: 'I was standing in the wings watching. He delivered what to me was like an execution – a beheading. Seriously. It was such a violent act. He hit him over the back of the head. I was absolutely stunned.'" p. 668: "For the remaining dates of the tour, the Kinks were replaced by the Walker Brothers ..."
