The Durant
[edit]- ... that The Durant (pictured) in Flint, Michigan, was opened as a hotel in 1920, vacated in 1973, acquired by the Genesee County Land Bank in 2005, and reopened as an apartment building in 2010? - Long enough, reliably sourced, and has no copyright violations. The hook is sufficiently interesting. The QPQ has been completed. SL93 (talk) 19:18, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote this, but the hook is pretty ho-hum. Buildings open, close, and change hands all the time. How about something hooky for the lead image slot, like:
- ALT1: ... that the booming automotive industry in Flint, Michigan, drove the construction of the biggest hotel in the area (pictured)? -- Alternately, some other descriptor could be used, like "a half-million-dollar hotel" or better, if there's a citation for it, "the city's first luxury hotel".
- I added a citation needed tag for a sentence under History. I would also like to know if the NRHP form is online so we can check whether the Description section is close paraphrasing. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 22:53, 1 November 2018 (UTC)

- I have a strong preference for the original hook over ALT1, but if other users disagree, feel free to go that way. Michael Barera (talk) 14:37, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
