Syritta pipiens
- ... that the hoverfly Syritta pipiens makes sharp darts in flight to facilitate mating?
ALT1:Males' tracking behavior in flight potentially serves as a function for mating, as such behavior often ends with a sharp dart towards the target fly after it has settled?
5x expanded by Alicelixuan (talk). Self-nominated at 15:34, 22 October 2019 (UTC).
- I see that @Alicelixuan: is a student editing this article as part of an educational assignment. Welcome to Wikipedia, you have made a useful addition to Wikipedia! This nomination is way outside the normal seven-day time limit for DYK, the expansion having started on 24 September and the nomination being made on 22 October, but I propose disregarding this. The article is a five-fold expansion and is long enough. The original hook facts are cited inline, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright or plagiarism issues. As a first DYK, no QPQ is needed. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 07:12, 1 November 2019 (UTC)
- @Cwmhiraeth: I've tagged the lead for a citation for the common name. Yoninah (talk) 21:47, 16 November 2019 (UTC)
