Hoysala emblem

• ... that in Indian Hoysala architecture, the royal emblem of the Hoysala Empire, a warrior stabbing a lion, is often scupted on the roof of the projecting sukanasa of Hindu temples (example pictured)?

• Comment. I could crop the pic further for DYK, as the sculpture is great. But I'd prefer to keep some architectural context for the article. Is a different crop acceptable for DYK? Johnbod (talk) 04:36, 17 November 2017 (UTC)

• Article is new enough, long enough, and well referenced. Hook is interesting and verified with reliable source. Image is and freely licensed (I think the current crop is fine for DYK). QPQ is done. No copyvio detected. Good to go. -Zanhe (talk) 05:34, 18 November 2017 (UTC)
