Stoned at the Nail Salon
- ... that "Stoned at the Nail Salon" features backing vocals from four other artists—Phoebe Bridgers, Clairo, Marlon Williams, and Lawrence Arabia? it features backing vocals from indie rock singers Phoebe Bridgers and Clairo, as well as James Milne and Marlon Williams
ALT1:... that "Stoned at the Nail Salon" has been compared by critics to earlier works from Lorde, such as her previous two albums Pure Heroine and Melodrama? In a Billboard article, Hannah Dailey connected the song to Lorde's previous works, opining that it "channels several themes from Lorde's past work", naming "Ribs" and "Liability" specifically. Vulture writer Justin Curto also contrasted the song with "Solar Power", writing that "Stoned in the Nail Salon" is "more in line with the contemplative Lorde we knew on Melodrama and Pure Heroine than the one we met on "Solar Power"".
- Comment: This is my first DYK nomination, and a self-nomination at that, so while I've read up on the rules and looked at other comparable nominations, there is probably some sort of mistake here. If there's any issue that needs improving with the hook or the article, let me know and I'll try my best to fix it.

- Editing hook to add a link to Lawrence Arabia (James Milne), who I didn't realise had a Wikipedia article. –LivelyRatification (talk) 09:45, 22 July 2021 (UTC)

Overall: Article new enough, long enough and is neutral and well-sourced. Earwig did not pick up anything major. I don't find ALT1 interesting but ALT0 is interesting and cited in article. However, while this may just be my personal preference, I think the hook should include that the song is written by Lorde and that it would be hookier without naming the backing artists (unless they're really big where they're from. Are they?) Nominator has no prior DYK credits so no QPQ needed. Pamzeis (talk) 03:57, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
- Honestly, I do kind of agree about ALT1. Just provided it for the purpose of an alternative hook. As for ALT0, could these alternatives work? @Pamzeis:
- ALT0b:... that "Stoned at the Nail Salon" was written by Lorde and Jack Antonoff, and features backing vocals from four other artists?
- ALT0b:... that "Stoned at the Nail Salon" features backing vocals from four other artists alongside lead vocalist Lorde?
