Stephen C. Ananian
[edit]- ... that although Stephen C. Ananian was a fighter pilot in the United States Army Air Forces, he received a medal from Sweden? Source: [1] (page 154)
Created by Bookish Worm (talk) and EtienneDolet (talk). Nominated by EtienneDolet (talk) at 06:24, 21 February 2018 (UTC).
- Reviewed: Nijmegen Helmet
- Subject of the article does not appear to meet notability requirements as set forth in WP:BIO and more specifically WP:SOLDIER. This in no way should be seen as a slight against the honorable service of the First Lieutenant. Most of the sources appear to be to obituaries or to content that is closely related to the subject. --RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 12:44, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
General eligibility:
- New enough:
- Long enough:
- Other problems: - Appears to fail WP:BIO and more specifically WP:SOLDIER
Policy compliance:
- Adequate sourcing: - While there are are seven listed sources, some appear not to meet reliable source eligibility or are primary sources
- Neutral:
- Free of copyright violations, plagiarism, and close paraphrasing: - 45.7% proximity to legacy.com/obituaries/greenvilleonline/obituary.aspx?n=stephen-carnig-ananian&pid=185989644&fhid=5447
- Other problems: - While having an aerial victory over a Me-262 maybe notable, there doesn't appear to be significant coverage of that event. If there was, this biography would fall under WP:1E and the event would be what is notable, not the subject of this article
Hook eligibility:
- Cited: - Offline/paywalled citation accepted in good faith
- Interesting: - It would be more interesting if the background as to why the subject received a medal from Sweden was given.

Overall: This article needs significant work to get to the point where it doesn't violate copyright violation and sufficient reliable sources from non-primary sources need to be found to verify the subject is notable per WP:GNG, WP:BIO, or WP:SOLDIER.
