Start a War (Gwen Stefani song)
[edit]... that Gwen Stefani debuted the previously unreleased "Start a War" during a concert in Los Angeles in February 2015? Source: Rolling Stone
Improved to Good Article status by Carbrera (talk). Self-nominated at 02:36, 31 December 2016 (UTC).
- A recent good article, hook is sourced. No close paraphrasing or neutrality detected. My only concern is that the hook is not necessarily "hooky" as the reviewing guide would put it. Singers debut songs during concerts all of the time (and this isn't even the first time Stefani has done it as I remember she debuted "Wind It Up" during a concert performance). I would recommend finding something a little more catchy or unique to this specific song/article. Aoba47 (talk) 16:05, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for the rewording. I am still not 100% certain that is the best hook (maybe someone else can comment either way). I do not believe the mention of the " the previously unreleased" adds much as that part is assumed through the verb "debut". Maybe you can add something about how the song is unreleased and only been performed once as that seems a little more original for this specific song/article, if that makes sense. - I agree that the hook struggles to be "interesting" enough. Debuting songs during live shows is quite common. Edwardx (talk) 01:13, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you for the comment; I think the hook should be replaced with something different. Aoba47 (talk) 22:23, 6 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Aoba47:: Perhaps you could help me in producing a better hook? It would be much appreciated but unnecessary. Carbrera (talk) 23:26, 6 January 2017 (UTC)
- No worries, I will provide you with a few ideas below:
*ALT1: ... that Gwen Stefani worked with Sia Furler for the unreleased song "Start a War" during the development of her third album? Source: Spin- ALT2: ... that Gwen Stefani's unreleased song "Start a War" was compared to Sia Furler's solo work? Source: Popology
*ALT3: ... that Charli XCX was incorrectly credited for writing Gwen Stefani's unreleased song "Start a War"? Source: BBC
- ALT4: ... that Gwen Stefani has only performed her song "Start a War" once?
Those ideas are definitely better. How about my ALT4 above? Edwardx (talk) 00:08, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
- Your idea is a definite improvement, thank you for the help! Your hook is really good because it is short and goes directly to its point. Aoba47 (talk) 00:33, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you, Aoba47. The idea suddenly came to me. Hopefully, our readers will be intrigued and want to find out more. Edwardx (talk) 00:43, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
- Came here to promote to prep but ALT4, while hooky, is not sourced in the article as such. The article just has sources about the first performance but none of them confirm that the song has not been performed since. Please decide whether you want to find a source for ALT4 or go with ALT2 instead. Regards SoWhy 15:13, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
