- ... that Barbara McLaren conceived of Spalding War Memorial (pictured) after her husband was killed in the First World War, but insisted he receive no special commemoration on it?

Substantial article on few but good sources, offline source accepted AGF. I suggest you change to Harvard referencing, with so many references to one book, or at least separate references from a "Bibliography".
