Silesian Wars

Frederick the Great in 1745

  • ... that the Silesian Wars made Frederick (pictured) "Great"? Source: "Friedrich has now, by his Second Silesian War, achieved Greatness: 'Friedrich the Great;' expressly so denominated, by his People and others." (Carlyle: Book XVI, Chapter I — Sans-Souci)
    • ALT1:... that all three Silesian Wars began with preemptive Prussian attacks? Source: various, cited and linked appropriately at the relevant points in the article

Substantial Good article on excellent sources, offline and foreign sources accepted AGF, no copyvio obvious. Excellent ilustrations and maps! The chosen image is licensed, and shows the time well. I added the year to the caption. The original hook is snappier. How about "the Great" instead of "Great"? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:24, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
Thank you! I prefer it with only "Great", since it works better grammatically, and it has echoes of "Make *** Great Again", which I think makes it hookier. But, whatever others think! -Bryanrutherford0 (talk) 16:35, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to promote this. I can't get the duplication detector to open, but I was wondering how much of the text was copied from First Silesian War, Second Silesian War, and Third Silesian War? Per Rule A5, text that is copied from other articles that are more than 7 days old must be expanded fivefold in the character count of the new article. Yoninah (talk) 16:18, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
  • Hold on. I don't think that applies to GAs. Restoring tick per Gerda Arendt's review. Yoninah (talk) 17:03, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
