General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.

Overall: This isn't necessary for DYK, but I would archive the sources so as not to have dead URLs in the references in the future. Xwejnusgozo (talk) 15:32, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

@Xwejnusgozo: Sorry but I don't know how to archive the sources. EdChem (talk) 17:12, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
Promoter: I have requested access to an image of this new species (recognised in 2016), please do not promote this to prep for a little while I see if I can get the image. Thanks. EdChem (talk) 17:12, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
@Xwejnusgozo: I have added an image and modified the hook, would you please look at its acceptability? Thanks. EdChem (talk) 08:58, 3 July 2016 (UTC)
  • Image free and clear, good to go. Xwejnusgozo (talk) 10:27, 3 July 2016 (UTC)
@Xwejnusgozo: I am sorry to do this, but the entomologist who discovered this species on his honeymoon has edited the article, changing the date to 2000. The sources all say 2001, so I propose an ALT hook with no date:
  • (ALT1): ... that Scolopendra cataracta (pictured), the world's only known amphibian centipede, was discovered by an entomologist on his honeymoon?
Thanks, EdChem (talk) 06:22, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
  • @EdChem: Yes, ALT1 is better if there is some confusion about the date of discovery. Xwejnusgozo (talk) 17:01, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
