Savannah Jordan
[edit]- ... that ... Savannah Jordan was the first soccer player in the history of the Southeastern Conference to be named SEC Offensive Player of the Year as a freshman?
- ALT1:... that ... Savannah Jordan was named SEC Offensive Player of the Year — the only soccer player in the history of the Southeastern Conference to be given the honor as a freshman?

- Hook length and neutrality is okay ... but the hook itself is a little mysterious, as it does not even say what sport Jordan plays. Furthermore is the implication supposed to be that she is the first athlete in any sport to be named an SEC player of the week? Or only the first soccer player? I read it to mean the former, but I am not sure the cite supports that.
- In addition, I have to say that this article is really dry – lots of statistics and accomplishments, little else. What was her style as a player in college, what made her different on the field or interesting to watch? Has she been a disappointment so far in the NWSL? Why was she traded? These are all questions I would ask if I clicked through from the main page. Wasted Time R (talk) 17:23, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- Wasted Time R Good point. I've added "soccer" to distinguish. Reading the article, her goal-scoring capabilities are what set her apart and a main reason for all of her awards and accomplishments.ref No reason given for the NWSL trade that I've seen. It just happened within the week along with another one from the Thorns involving a player, Allie Long, that's been with Portland for five years.ref Hmlarson (talk) 19:33, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Hmlarson: Hooks are okay now, first one seems the better to me. I like the ESPNw bit you pointed at, so why don't you include some of that into the article? There are "Style of play" sections in Mia Hamm and Carli Lloyd and Abby Wambach and so on ... I'm not suggesting you need a separate section about that here, but a sentence or two about her martial arts background and her strength, control and quickness inside the box would help make this article a little more interesting.
