Satoko Kishimoto
- ... that Satoko Kishimoto is Suginami, Tokyo's first female elected mayor? Source: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-64874853 ("Back in June, the 48-year-old became the first female mayor in the history of Suginami.")
Created by Ritchie333 (talk) and CT55555 (talk). Nominated by Ritchie333 (talk) at 20:55, 8 March 2023 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Satoko Kishimoto; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.
- The article was just created today and promptly nominated. It has inline citations throughout, and, at roughly 1870 characters, it is long enough. The hook checks out. Ready to go. --Moscow Connection (talk) 23:47, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- I would recommend removing the word "elected" as it impliest to me that there was a previous female mayor who got to the office via some means other than an election, e.g. being next in the line of succession when the previous mayor vacated the role. QuietHere (talk) 08:30, 11 March 2023 (UTC)
- I was thinking specifically of offices like the Mayor of London, a modern democratically elected post, as opposed to historical posts of Mayor which were appointed. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:56, 13 March 2023 (UTC)
