Sandy Island (New Caledonia)
[edit]- ... that Sandy Island, although presented in some maps, does not actually exist?

- long enough, sourced and interesting. The hook fact is clearly present and sourced, but I might consider altering the lead paragraph of the article to contain the hook given above, as it may not be clear what a "phantom island" is. I would suggest it starts "Sandy Island is a phantom island that was supposedly located between Australia and New Caledonia in the Coral Sea. The island is presented on many world maps, including Google Maps, even though it does not exist." - filelakeshoe 15:15, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
- The article has a weasel word tag at the moment that should be addressed. Additionally, while the sourcing is very good over all, there are a couple of small sections that need citation (end of third and fourth paragraphs.) Particularly, the third paragraph where it gives an explanation of the re-sighting that, if not cited, is considered WP:OR. Other than that, this should be good to go.
