Słonim Ghetto

[edit]

Created by Poeticbent (talk). Self-nominated at 15:30, 14 June 2016 (UTC).

  • Couple of phrasing issues in the opening. "The invading Soviets annexed the city along with the entire region to the Byelorussian SSR in the atmosphere of terror" only really make sense if "the atmosphere of terror" is meant to be a proper noun naming a specific event. Otherwise "an atmosphere of terror". " Less than two years later the city was recaptured by the Wehrmacht." When had the Wehrmacht previously captured it?©Geni (talk) 14:47, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
Thanks, ©Geni. I am impressed with the accuracy of your observations. All fixed. Poeticbent talk 15:26, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
Having taken a further look I'm not convinced that the sources for the hook meet our reliable sources guideline. I don't see any other show-stoppers.©Geni (talk) 15:44, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
Are you talking about beatifications specifically? Poeticbent talk 15:57, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
Both that and identity unfortunately. "Those who risked their lives" appears to be self published. Author Anna Poray and publisher A. Poray. Not sure of the status of the catholic forum stuff.©Geni (talk) 16:30, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
Poray died 3 years ago at the age of 94. Book published in 2007: ISBN 0979221307 with introduction by historian Richard C. Lukas. Nevertheless, I replaced her inline citation along with link to CatholicForum using well established portals Catholic Online COL and CatholicSaints.info and also added second citation from College of the Holy Cross. Should be OK now. Thank a lot, Poeticbent talk 18:02, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
CatholicSaints.info is again self published. I'd suggests this: http://college.holycross.edu/faculty/vlapomar/hiatt/jesuits.htm from Inside the Vatican or this (scroll down to the end of the article.©Geni (talk) 19:34, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
All done. Thanks again for these new excellent sources. Much obliged, Poeticbent talk 04:38, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
  • Issues now fixed.©Geni (talk) 13:43, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
