Run, Nigger, Run

[edit]

Created by Crisco 1492 (talk). Self nominated at 04:41, 14 March 2014 (UTC).

Ok, I will start working on this review Hafspajen (talk) 13:04, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
  1. When the article was created (or moved to main space)? -that is OK. moved to mainspace on 14 March
  2. How long is the article?:-Pretty long
  3. Does every paragraph (except the lead) have at least one inline citation? - eh
  4. Is it neutrally written?-well, yes
  1. Check it is not a stub. - no, no way.

Those are the main things you need to check on the article - I know you've read through it now. Try doing some of those above, then we'll move on to the Hook. Any questions? SagaciousPhil - Chat 15:05, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

  • The lead hasn't any citation , actually. Hafspajen (talk) 15:11, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
  • Lede doesn't need citations (WP:DYKSG D2: The article in general should use inline, cited sources. A rule of thumb is one inline citation per paragraph, excluding the intro, plot summaries, and paragraphs which summarize other cited content.) — Crisco 1492 (talk) 15:20, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
Also, article was moved to mainspace on 14 March. I created it in my user space on 12 March. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 15:20, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
.Thanks, I am learning rew, you know. Pick your because new it will be easy. Hafspajen (talk) 15:22, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
lesson, lead needs no citation, oops Phil said that above, Hafspajen (talk) 15:25, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

  • Found that. New enough, long enough, No close paraphrasing found. Hafspajen (talk) 15:27, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

..Where is that hook? Hafspajen (talk) 15:30, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

  • "Kristian Lin of the Fort Worth Weekly wrote that, though the song had initially been used by Black slaves to encourage escapees and warn them of the dangers involved, when performed by the character of Tibeats it became a taunt, "like a prison guard who jingles the keys for the prisoners to hear, reminding them of what they don't have" — Crisco 1492 (talk) 15:36, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

This is a short hook? Hafspajen (talk) 15:36, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

  • The hook is above. The quote is what is in this article. A hook need not use the same phrasing as the article. Lost my dictionary, no etymologies, sadly. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 15:39, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

Man, I have get used to this. uyes it was there. Hafspajen (talk) 15:41, 14 March 2014 (UTC) How about

Hafspajen (talk) 15:43, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

'Well, I say all fine. Hafspajen (talk) 15:48, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
  • Article - created moved to main space on 14 March, so new enough; 6035 characters of readable prose, so long enough; neutral; at least one inline citation to every paragraph; no copy vios detected running a random selection through duplication detector; assessed as C class, so not a stub.
  • Hook - within length criteria at 121 characters; correctly formatted; correctly cited/supported by ref #7 in last paragraph of History and documentation section; and interesting.
  • QPQ done; no image used. Hafspajen (talk) 18:02, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
    • Hook seems fine to me. Drmies (talk) 19:26, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
      • As Hafspajen suggested the ALT hook, he's not actually able to give the tick; however, I have been guiding him through this as it was his first DYK review. I had no input into the ALT hook, so feel it's acceptable for me to confirm everything above and give the hook it's final tick - I have struck the original hook for clarity.
Ready to go. SagaciousPhil - Chat 18:20, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
