Rudy Nappi
- ... that illustrator Rudy Nappi's favorite of his own Nancy Drew work was his cover for The Mystery at Lilac Inn? Source: Lovisi, Gary (Fall 2009). "Rudy Nappi: Celebrating the Artist & His Work". - Article was just created, ad its length and age are fine for a DYK. No copyvio or plagiarism concern. I am uncertain if the final three citations (i.e. Book Riot, Mystery Sequels, and TheRedArchive) would be considered reliable enough for Wikipedia, but my primary concern is with the proposed hook. I do not think it is particularly "hooky" to general readers.
- I think something about how he didn't read the Nancy Drew books and had his wife give him a synopsis has potential or even something about his status as the "one of the greatest pulp fiction artists of his time" or how the G.I. Bill lead to his art career. I just do not think the current hook is "hooky", but I could be wrong about this matter. Aoba47 (talk) 19:47, 19 December 2022 (UTC)
ALT1 ... Rudy Nappi didn't read the Nancy Drew Mystery Stories he illustrated, but his wife did?
- ALT2 ... illustrator Rudy Nappi based his Nancy Drew Mystery Stories cover art on summaries provided by his wife, who actually read the books?

(I think I like ALT2!) I promise to get you a QPQ ASAP -- you're too fast for me. I thought I had, like, weeks LOL. jengod (talk) 20:39, 19 December 2022 (UTC)
- There's no need to rush. Apologies for that. Thank you for the alternate hooks. Both look solid to me, but I appreciate that you kept the original up just in case whomever schedules the queues prefers it. Feel free to ping me once the QPQ is done, but again, there is no pressure at all. Aoba47 (talk) 20:49, 19 December 2022 (UTC)
- Now that the QPQ is done, everything looks good to go with this nomination. I personally prefer ALT2 to avoid the illustrator/illustrated repetition in ALT1, but I trust whoever will promote this and put this in the queue will pick this most appealing hook from the above three.
