Ronald Reagan in music
[edit]... that John Fogerty sang about Ronald Reagan in both the 1960s and 1980s?ALT1:... that during the 1980s, Ronald Reagan appeared on the covers of punk rock, reggae, hip hop, and Afrobeat albums?

@Morganfitzp: GA, in time, long enough, neutral, sourced, QPQ done (but see comment on that page). I like ALT1, but there are some issues with the sourcing. Where is the citation for Reagan appearing on punk rock or hip hop album covers? Not explicitly mentioned in the reggae nomination, but visible in the image. The term afrobeat is also in the hook but used nowhere in the article. --Usernameunique (talk) 01:26, 29 August 2017 (UTC)

- @Usernameunique: Yeah, I guess one would need to know enough about both Reagan's and Fogerty's chronologies for ALT0 to be interesting. Here are a few others for consideration:

- ALT2: ... that in the 1980s, different factions of New York City's punk subculture wrote songs both for and against President Ronald Reagan?
- ALT3: ... that during his presidency, Ronald Reagan appeared on the covers of records by the Ramones, Fela Kuti, Bootsy Collins and The Clash?
- ALT4: ... that during his presidency, Ronald Reagan's voice was sampled by DJ Jazzy Jeff, Skinny Puppy, Def Leppard and Negativland?

Morganfitzp Looks good. Approving ALT2 and ALT4. ALT3 needs the Ramones reference to be cited (citation is to controversy around Reagan's visit, nothing to do with the Ramones) to pass. I prefer ALT4, but like ALT3 too if you can add the citation. It doesn't need to be anything much; a link to a source which shows the cover, with Reagan on it, would be pretty reliable. --Usernameunique (talk) 07:42, 29 August 2017 (UTC)

ALT3 is now fine. "During his presidency" is fine also, but in the future please don't edit hooks after they have been approved (either suggest the alterations so they can be made, or propose ALT hooks instead). Thanks, --Usernameunique (talk) 04:20, 1 September 2017 (UTC)
