Richard Owen (geologist)
[edit]- ... that Richard Owen (pictured) was president of a university that had no students?
- ALT1:... that college rivals Indiana University and Purdue University each have a building named for Richard Owen?
- ALT2:... that commandant Richard Owen's prisoners of war commissioned a statue of him to be placed in the Indiana Statehouse?
- Reviewed: 2011-12 Ligue Magnus season
- Comment: Other possible images: Indiana University building (for ALT1), the statue (for ALT2).

- / Article length, date, and compliance check out. Article is well written and interesting - nice work. The first fact is the most interesting, but is questionable as it is not directly supported by the article. The article says he resigned as president before classes began but I'm not sure that is really the same thing s being a president of a university with no students. ALT1 is fine; supported by two refs, the online one has been checked and the other accepted in good faith. If the original fact is determined acceptable by the promoter, I suggest that it be used. Otherwise, I offer up
- ALT3: ... that geologist Richard Owen (pictured) died of accidental poisoning after his grocer mistook a bottle of embalming fluid for mineral water.
- Picture license is good. --ThaddeusB (talk) 16:27, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
