Overall: Article was moved from draft space to main space on August 19, and nominated on the same day. The article is neutral in tone, and length is adequate. There are a few citation needed tags to resolve in the sections with lists. No plagiarism was detected. All three proposed hooks are interesting to a broad audience. ALTO is mentioned in the introduction, but is not explicitly cited anywhere in the article. Please add a similar phrase to the main body of text with a citation. ALT1 used the word "elected", whereas the text says "chosen". Please use a consistent wording for ease of verification, and note that the cited source says neither "elected" or "chosen". The quote used in ALT2 does not appear in the body of this article. Please insert the quote or revise the hook. The nominated image is in the public domain, used in the article and clear at a low resolution. No QPQ is required for the nominator's first DYK credit. Overall, this nomination is a welcome addition to Wikipedia and needs only minor work for DYK approval. Flibirigit (talk) 22:04, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- @Flibirigit: thank you for the review. I believe I have addressed most of your concerns. Regarding the "elected" vs "chosen" comment, I believe all the conductors were elected, but like you said the source does not use the term. Would changing the phrase to something less specific like
DYK ... that the Red Hill Band's (pictured) seventh director, Oliver K. Bernd, was only 19 when he started directing the band?

- The article now meets sourcing requirements for DYK. ALT0 and ALT2 are now mentioned in the body, both properly cited, and verified by the sources. ALT1 is mentioned in the body, and properly cited. ALT1 is sourced to here, where mentions the word "elected" in the first paragraph, and mentions age 19 and seventh conductor, in the seventh paragraph. DYK nomination is approved. Best wishes. - @Flibirigit: thank you for approving the DYK. Do you mind if we remove the date from the photo caption? I'm finding conflicting information about the date. I found a source that says 1925 and another that says 1901. I know for a fact that the photo was taken in front of the L.B. Miller Cigar factory. TipsyElephant (talk) 00:57, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
