Qian Lingxi
[edit]- ... that the same year Qian Lingxi died, a library (pictured) bearing his name was inaugurated? "令希图书馆是2009年建成的新图书馆...是以著名的力学家、教育家钱令希院士的名字命名的" "Lingxi Library was opened in 2009... named after academician Qian Lingxi, a famous dynamicist and educator"

- Comment: Rescued from a discarded draft. I was planning to credit the draft's author as well, but then found out that most of the original content was copyvio from IACM Expressions and I had to rewrite the whole thing.

- This article is new enough and long enough. The image is appropriately licensed (but rather dark), the hook facts are sourced inline, the article is neutral and I detected no policy issues. A QPQ has been done. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:36, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
- @Zanhe: the image is rather dark and the hook doesn't really stand on its own. Could you suggest something else, perhaps reflecting one of his accomplishments? Yoninah (talk) 00:41, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Yoninah and Cwmhiraeth: You don't have to use the image but I think the hook is still interesting without it. How many people get to a have a major library named after them? Especially it was opened in the same year of his death, serving as a special kind of monument. I've written dozens of scientist biographies, and this is quite special IMO. -Zanhe (talk) 01:39, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Zanhe: Well, I've written about inductees to the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame who have libraries named after them, so it doesn't seem special to me. Maybe if you say what kind of a library it was, it would sound more impressive. Yoninah (talk) 02:12, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
- ALT1 ... that the same year Qian Lingxi died, his university inaugurated its library (pictured) in his memory?
- ALT2 ... that after scientist Qian Lingxi was denounced during the Cultural Revolution, China's nuclear submarine project had to seek the help of Premier Zhou Enlai to make him available for this strategic program? Source: China's Strategic Seapower
- @Yoninah and Cwmhiraeth: I've reworded ALT0 as ALT1, and added ALT2, which is probably more interesting but also a bit long-winded. -Zanhe (talk) 00:26, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
- I think ALT2 is the most interesting. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:05, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
