Qadamgah (ancient site)
[edit]- ... that the rock-cut Achaemenid structure Qadamgah, the remains of which resemble another unfinished royal tomb, was actually a completed work with possible religious function? Source: [1]

- Hook and hook length verified. Newness and article length also verified. Foreign language sources accepted AGF. Before finalising this, there are some phrases close to the Encyclopedia Iranica text as follows: " fed by a spring underneath the lower terrace.", "two rock-cut staircases on either side. There are 3 rows of 5 shallow rectangular cavities", "around the edge of the upper terrace.", "a so far uniquely known, open-air cultic place". Please see earwig's detector results. I want to make a change in the hook, changing "Achaemenid" to "Achaemenid-style" to make it more accurate, beside a small change in the word order:
- ALT1: ... that the Achaemenid-style rock-cut structure Qadamgah, the remains of which resemble another unfinished royal tomb, was actually a completed work with possible religious function? Source: [3]

- Thank you for the cleanup of the phrases. Reagrding the phrasing of ALT1, Encyclopedia Iranica states: "...he stressed the strong similarities between Qadamgāh and the two Royal tombs at Persepolis". In view of that, why mention that it resembles the unfinished tomb? This is not explicitly stated in EI. I would suggest revising the sentence, to note the similarity with the two Royal tombs at Persepolis. Dr. K. 17:49, 19 July 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, I almost misunderstood the source. I have to change it a bit now, I propose:
- ALT2: ... that the rock-cut structure Qadamgah near Persepolis, once thought to be another, unfinished Achaemenid royal tomb, was actually a completed work with possible religious function?
