Q26 (New York City bus)
- ... that in 1948, a bus shelter on New York City's Q26 route was the subject of a lawsuit, after someone refused to take title to a new home next to the shelter? Source: Long Island Star Journal
- ALT1:... that when most service on New York City's Q26 bus route was discontinued in 2010 as a cost-saving measure, the route's per-rider cost increased? Source: MTA p. B-60

- Comment: Kew Gardens 613 did almost all of the work

- Of the two hooks, it might be a better idea to go with a variation of the first one as the second might be too technical for regular readers (I'm not sure if they could easily understand what "per-rider" cost would mean, for example). However, personally I think ALT0 might need to be reworded as the meaning of "take title" might not be clear to most readers. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:16, 13 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5: Thanks for the review. How about this?
- ALT2 ... that after someone refused to take the property title for a home in 1948, a bus shelter on New York City's Q26 route was the subject of a lawsuit?
- ALT3 ... that in 1948, a bus shelter on New York City's Q26 route was the subject of two lawsuits that alleged negative effects on nearby property values? epicgenius (talk) 16:36, 13 January 2020 (UTC)
- I think ALT2 could work. Just for clarification, the paragraph that discusses is it the penultimate section of the "World War II" section right? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 23:53, 13 January 2020 (UTC)
- Narutolovehinata5, that's correct. epicgenius (talk) 00:29, 14 January 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. Just for DYK citation purposes, which is/are the specific sentence(s) that verify ALT2 and ALT3? Both hooks appear to be based on multiple sentences and it's difficult to see which exact sentences were the main bases. Just asking since I really wouldn't want this to be brought up at WP:ERRORS or WT:DYK if things aren't clear enough. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 23:19, 14 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5:
In August 1948, Matur Homes, Incorporated brought a case with the Emerald Park Civic Association over its bus shelters, complaining that someone refused to take title to the new home next to the shelter until the 58th Avenue shelter was removed.[29] [...] On July 13, 1949, Emerald Park Civic Association officials announced that a second court action threatened their continued maintenance of the bus shelters along Hollis Court Boulevard, having been served a summons due to another compliant by Matur Homes.[31] Matur sought the removal of the 58th Avenue shelter, stating that the Veterans Administration was turning down applications for G.I. loans for homes in the neighborhood, objecting to the effect of the shelters on realty values.[31][32]
epicgenius (talk) 23:16, 15 January 2020 (UTC)- Thanks. The article meets DYK requirements, the hooks are cited and verified, no close paraphrasing was found, and a QPQ has been provided. Either ALT2 or ALT3 can be promoted. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:25, 16 January 2020 (UTC)
